Revolutionaries
Words and music by Richard Aljinovic
Verse 1:
Where the children revolution be gone to, where have the children revolution be gone.
Where the children revolution be gone to, we’re all alone.
They promised us a world of peace, they promised us a world that’s green and at ease.
They promised us so many things; it’s hard to find just what they did.
I tell you that they’ve sold their souls, they’ve gone all corporate
and out of control.
Those hippie children cut all their hair, they're riding their Mercs with petrol in the air.
Chorus:
They wave their hippie banners in the air, hug trees like a love affair. Smoked all the shit they could find; now they just don’t care.
They fought against the war in 'Nam, now they sell their weapons to Iran.
Making money hand over fist, what ever happened to the pacifists.
Verse 2:
Where the children revolution be gone to, where have the children revolution be gone.
Where the children revolution be gone to, we‘re all alone.
They promised us harmony with the trees, all they could give us was their greed disease.
People let go for the bottom line, they want their dividends right on time.
Those revolutionary children have changed their names, from Rainbow and Petal to the Exxon Valdez.
Can’t fool the children of the revolution, T-Rex was wrong now they're
a part of the pollution.
Chorus:
They wave their hippie banners in the air, hug trees like a love affair.
Smoked all the shit they could find; now they just don’t care.
They fought against the war in 'Nam, now they sell their weapons to Iran.
They’re making money hand over fist, what ever happened to the pacifists.
Outro:
It’s sad, promises gone bad.
Yes it’s sad, promises gone bad.
Where the children revolution be gone to,
where have the children revolution be gone.
Where the children revolution be gone to,
We’re all alone.
We’re all alone.
