This is my environmental ballad. Or as some people call it, my green period piece. I wrote it for a TV documentary to raise attention on the plight of the Murray River in Australia. It was about someone canoeing from the top of the river to the bottom in a cycle of the moon, and showing the effects we've had on the important waterway. The guy in the canoe made it, but my song sank along the way and didn't make it to the producer in time. So I happily kept it for myself.

Chasing the moon
Words and music by Chich
Verse 1:
I’m gonna float,
to chase the moon in my boat.
To try to help poor time,
fix the wrongs before they all die.
A quarter gone the moon beckons me,
Come the time ticks on it’s still chasing me.
But I’m floating down the stream,
With plastic bags that gleam in moon beams.
Chorus:
And I’m floating down the stream,
chasing the moon on tails of moon beams.
Chasing the wrongs and making rights,
well it’s not too late if we all fight,
well it’s not too late if we all fight.
Verse 2:
Half the moon’s disappeared,
the lapsing of seconds is pushing me with speed.
Feel the suffocation of progress, encircle my boat.
Feel the hands through the water want to drag and choke.
Moon three quarters missing I can hear the call,
reach my destination my port and goal.
See all those fields their haunted by trees which are long gone,
the songs of life have disappeared, the birds have all flown.
Chorus:
And I’m floating down the stream,
chasing the moon on tails of moon beams.
Chasing the wrongs and making rights,
well it’s not too late if we all fight,
well it’s not too late if we all fight.
Yes it’s not too late if we all fight.
